Finding Paragraph 2
Parents who abuse drugs typically don't care about anything else, but getting their next high or where they can get their new supply (former abuser). Why do people, specifically parents, abuse drugs? People generally take drugs to either feel good (i.e., sensation seekers or anyone wanting to experiment with feeling high or different) or to feel better (i.e., self-medicators or individuals who take drugs in an attempt to cope with difficult problems or situations, including stress, trauma, and symptoms of mental disorders) (The NIDA; national institute on drug abuse). Drugs, as you may know, is one of the leading causes of deaths today and is continueing to increase due to influences in bands, singers, sports players, and other idols. Celebrities are all too often dealt with leniently, which in turn is sending out the wrong message to adults and young people (UN's International Narcotics Control Board). Drugs only lead to bad decisions, money lose, and abuse to yourself and others around you. With drug abuse spreading rapidly and people finding new ways to do drugs, the issue can only get worse and lead to worse things for the abusers and their families.
